Fabric Labels: which one is right for you?

Fabric labels are sewn directly into garments — they become part of the clothing, not a detachable tag. Three SKUs in this family serve three different fabric-label jobs: Cotton Labels for soft brand identification at necklines, Size Labels for size information on garments, and Woven Labels for premium damask-woven brand logos that last as long as the garment. All are wash-durable and survive industrial laundry cycles.

Decide in four questions

Walk down from the first question — every branch ends at a product.
1. What is the label COMMUNICATING?

   ├─ Size info (S, M, L, XL, garment size) — purely functional
   │ → Size Labels (size-labels)
│ — fixed 1×2 cm, pre-folded centre roll, low MOQ
   │
├─ Brand name / logo on a label that should FEEL SOFT against skin
   │ → Cotton Labels (cotton-labels)
   │ — 100% organic cotton, 160 GSM, soft neckline-grade
   │
└─ Brand name / logo as a PREMIUM woven artefact (damask weave, no print)
         → Woven Labels (woven-labels)
         — polyester damask woven, "lasts as long as the garment"

Easily confused

  • "Cotton Label vs Woven Label" — Both can carry the brand. Cotton is screen- or rotary-printed on organic cotton — the print can fade with industrial wash over time. Woven is damask-woven — the design is interwoven into the fabric, not printed on top, so it lasts as long as the garment. Cotton is softer and organic; Woven is more durable and premium. For brand-led labels where longevity matters, route to Woven.
  • "Size Label vs Cotton Label" — Different sizes and different jobs. Size labels are fixed 1×2 cm pre-folded on rolls (production-line ready); cotton labels are custom-sized (5–60 mm) and carry brand info. A single garment often has both — a cotton brand label at the back of the neck plus a size label below it.
  • "Cotton Label vs Cotton Mailer / Cotton Bag" — Same fibre, very different products. Cotton Label is a small fabric label sewn into garments. Cotton bags are entirely different (Cotton & Craft category, separate family).

When this family is the wrong call

  • Hang tag attached to product (not sewn in) → paper-tag-family
  • Adhesive label on packaging → sticker-family
  • Detachable price tag → saree-tag
  • Garment branding via direct print (no separate label) → custom embroidery / direct print, not in this catalogue
